The Crew 3 is dropping The Crew name, says insider

According to insiders, the next game in The Crew series might take on a totally new name.

In case you forgot, last year, a datamine of some DLC from The Crew 2 suggested that a third game in The Crew series was in development. Apparently, screenshots of something called “Project Orlando” were found - the game appeared to be set in Hawaii, and included what the leaker believed to be a battle royale mode.

Over a year on, and insiders are claiming to have more information about this upcoming game. As reported by prominent leaker Tom Henderson (via Insider Gaming), and in collaboration with Nick Baker (AKA Shpeshal Nick) from the XboxEra podcast, Ubisoft’s next instalment of The Crew might actually be called something completely different.

Before we get into it, check out some famous cars in action in Forza Horizon 5 below.

“In the last few weeks, I got a whole bunch of stuff about this thing that I had never heard of at the time, which is believed to be a new - or the new - Crew game. Info was a bit sketchy, I sent a lot of this stuff to Tom [Henderson] - all of this stuff to Tom - and I’ve been chatting with him back and forth cos he had already had some info,” Baker said. “We can’t show the screenshots, but we can describe stuff and give stuff.”

“This game was believed to be The Crew 3, I’m not sure if it still is The Crew 3, because there’s no mention of The Crew in any of the screenshots. Everything is like, Motorfest branded,” Baker continued. “So this seems like it’s going to go head to head with Forza Horizon - if you look at the screenshots, if you look at the branding of everything, the style of everything, it all looks very, very Forza Horizon.” In his article, Henderson suggested that the game could be titled “The Crew: Motorfest”.

Baker also corroborated last year’s leaks: “It’s set in Hawaii, and at least the map I got is O’ahu, the island of O’ahu. I don’t know if they’re going to do it across the other islands or not, I’m not sure, just O’ahu is the map that I have,” he said. “There’s like a battle royale mode […], demolition royale, so I assume that’s its take on Forza Horizon’s Eliminator.”

At the time of writing, none of this is officially confirmed, so grasp your salt firmly, friends.
