Although it has not yet been confirmed, season two of Obi-Wan Kenobi is reportedly in the works over at Disney Plus and it seems as though fans are feeling torn over the possibility of more.

First airing back in 2022 and taking place 10 years after the Jedi Order was dissolved during the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi followed the story of the titular character as he fought to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia.

This soon saw him come into contact with his once-student Darth Vader as the television show welcomed the return of both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

Consisting of just six episodes, Obi-Wan Kenobi received generally positive reviews from viewers but was seemingly let down by some questionable writing.

Either way, fans want more and with Disney Plus regularly cancelling Star Wars projects, such as 2024’s The Acolyte, it seems as though Obi-Wan Kenobi has not yet received the chop.

So could this mean a second season is on the way?

Well, McGregor himself has previously stated that they are "exploring" a return and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has revealed that although it is not in active development, “never say never”.

With plenty of other Star Wars projects in the pipeline, it really is anybody’s guess but in the meantime, fans recently took to r/StarWarsCantina to share their thoughts on the possibility.

“The only question is what would they actually do for a second season? Maybe they'll take inspiration from concepts shown in the Kenobi novel where he's traveling around Tatooine aiding settlers and settling disputes,” user RoboMerc speculated.

“If they want to do an adventure of what we want off planet, they could have him writing in his journal and we flash back to the particular moment in time he's writing about.”

User Wookie301 agreed, adding, ‘It was second in viewership to Mandalorian. Makes sense. Just hope the story makes sense too.”

However, user SaltySAX summed it up when they said, “Hope this happens. Whether you like the Kenobi series or not, it was great seeing Ewan back as the legendary Jedi.”

Now we just have to wait to see if Obi-Wan Kenobi will ever return for a second season.
