Far Cry 3 Reborn is the remaster we’ve been waiting on

Far Cry 3 may be well over a decade old but the much-loved instalment is widely regarded as the best in the Ubisoft series.

So it is perhaps no surprise that fans are calling out for a remaster as the game quickly approaches its fifteen-year anniversary.

Although there is no official remaster on the way, one creator has made it possible for us to experience Far Cry 3 with modern-day graphics and performance.

Far Cry 3 Reborn is a free mod by verdugo7 over on Nexus Mods.

It aims to “enhance, rebalance, and expand the gameplay of Far Cry 3 by adding a touch of realism, immersion, and exploration into the game”.

Staying true to the original, this mod has been built from scratch as a way to adjust gameplay to make the game feel a lot more challenging and less tedious to play.

“This mod expands the gameplay opportunities that weren't fully emphasized in the vanilla game and creates a whole new experience to Far Cry 3,” the creator explains.

‘In my opinion, this is how Far Cry 3 should have been from the start.

This mod is not aiming for hardcore realism, instead, this balances the realism and fun factor of the game. “

So what has been enhanced?

Well, the creator has worked on better weapon sights, a complete weapons overhaul, more weapon skins, and now all weapons will be available from the start of the game, albeit modified.

There will also be no intro which is perfect for returning players, as well as faster looting animations, cleaner camera interface, a complete crafting overhaul, and all skills will also be unlocked from the start.
