A new Far Cry 3 project aims to restore a load of cut content that was removed from the game prior to launch.
Project Medusa is a fan-made initiative by Far Cry 3 modders Scar and MysteryGamerPL, who aim to include as much cut content as possible in the final release.
Some of the improvements that have been listed include better visuals, such as enhanced vegetation, textures, and character models (including the old Jason player model).
It also features improvements to audio, both the soundtrack as well as diegetic sounds which occur in-game, as well as changes to UI and scripts to further flesh out the experience.

That’s not everything though, as Project Medusa will also add new weapons into the fray, which were removed from Far Cry 3 prior to launch but remained in the game files.
Altogether, while not the definitive Far Cry 3 experience, this new mod will certainly satisfy those who preferred the look of the game in its early alpha and beta stages, which notably underwent many changes over time.
A trailer for the project has been released, which can be seen below.
Far Cry 3 Project Medusa is one for fans of the franchise to experience some cut content
There’s no release date confirmed yet for Project Medusa, but you can follow updates over on Scar’s YouTube channel.
Other mods for Far Cry 3 that we’ve covered in the past include Far Cry 3 Reborn, a mod which aims to “enhance, rebalance, and expand the gameplay of Far Cry 3 by adding a touch of realism, immersion, and exploration into the game” while staying true to the original.

Originally released in 2012, Far Cry 3 is the third main installment in Ubisoft’s Far Cry series. Taking place on the fictional Rook Islands, the game follows protagonist Jason Brody who must save his friends after they are kidnapped by pirates during a vacation gone awry.
Far Cry 3 is often pointed to as one of the earlier Ubisoft games that would define the company’s output moving forward, along with titles such as Assassin’s Creed II and Watch Dogs.
This is due to the fact that many fans have pointed out Far Cry 3 has been the formula for all of its sequels, with Ubisoft trying to recapture the magic of what made that game so successful.
Even to this day, the older games in the series have been getting some attention from Ubisoft lately, with 60fps and performance improvements coming to Far Cry 3: Classic Edition, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal earlier this year.
