Steam's latest free game giveaway has everyone making the same joke

Steam's latest free game giveaway has everyone making the same joke, but it's a game you should definitely pick up.

It’s that time again. Yes, I’m here to bring you yet another free game. Seeing as it’s a Friday, this could be the perfect slice of entertainment to keep you occupied this coming weekend.

It’s been a great week for freebies. Allow me to recap some of the best on offer. You can currently grab Payday 2 for free - and there’s no better time to catch up on the series, seeing as Payday 3 has been announced. There’s also a great new multiplayer RPG available to grab for a limited time on Steam which is set to be one of the year’s standout multiplayer releases. One of 2023’s most-anticipated launches, the soulslike Lies of P, has received a free playable demo ahead of its release which you can check out on all platforms now - plus you can grab a classic horror game too, also entirely for free. All of these are no strings attached offers, so go get ‘em. To add to this, there’s yet another Steam freebie which, aside from being great, has everyone making the exact same joke.

Take a look at the latest trailer for Lies of P below. Loosely based on the tale of Pinocchio, the soulslike is set against the backdrop of the Belle Epoque era.

Over on Steam, users can grab a copy of Tell Me Why. Personally, that makes me think of the excellent Taylor Swift song but can you guess which joke everyone is making? Ten points to you if you’re singing ‘ain’t nothing but a heartache’ in your head. Over on Reddit, fans essentially recreated the entirety of the classic Backstreet Boys song in a long and entertaining thread.

Silly jokes aside, Tell Me Why is definitely worth picking up. Developed by DONTNOD Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, the title was released back in 2020. It’s essentially an episodic adventure game. If you’re a fan of the Life is Strange games, you’ll definitely be into this. The synopsis reads: “In this intimate mystery, reunited twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their supernatural bond to unravel the memories of their loving but troubled childhood. Set in beautiful small-town Alaska, Tell Me Why features true-to-life characters, mature themes and gripping choices. As you conjure up memories of the past, your choices will affect the twins’ relationship, determine the strength of their bond, and shape the course of their lives.”

The game is free until 1 July 2023. Being on Steam, it’s obviously PC only but if you are a PC owner, there’s no harm in stopping by to pick this one up.
