A brand new free game just appeared on Steam that is getting some seriously high praise, and fans of one particular franchise might find themselves in for an extra fun time.
Everyone loves a free game, but you know what people love even more? A free game that’s actually good.
Well today’s your lucky day folks, because this new free Steam download has racked up some very impressive reviews and earned itself a 100% positive review rating in the process.

Felt Mansion is an action RPG from developer Haeldral and publisher HS.NET, and it landed on Steam just under two weeks ago.
Now don’t let the RPG Maker assets and the goofy looking character art fool you, because it all seems to be a bit of an intentional choice on the behalf of the developer.
As developer Haeldral notes in the Steam description, Felt Mansion “is an adventure/action RPG fan-game set in the world of Andrew Hussie's Homestuck”. In case you’re unfamiliar with the Homestuck web comic, the artistic choice in Felt Mansion is clearly trying to parrot it (which is why it looks like everything was drawn in MS Paint).
So, that probably leads you to a different question: do you actually need to like/know anything about Homestuck to enjoy this one? The reviews seem to imply that you don’t.

“If you like Homestuck, it's great. If you don't, it's still a fun free RPG,” writes reviewer NewMars.
“Finished the game on hard. I really enjoyed the game, especially as someone who doesn't play a whole lot of RPG games,” writes user ExplosiveBunny.
“Overall, I think this is the best Homestuck game on steam by a long shot, even if a lot of the actual Homestuck content was questionable, and I'd 100% recommend this short game, even if it wasn't free.”
You might only be able to discern whether or not this one is still fun for non-Homestuck fans by just playing it, but hey– if not, it is still free, so all you’ll be wasting is your time.
