Four free games can currently be yours by simply hopping over to their Steam pages and adding them to your library, but are any of them actually worth playing, even if they don’t cost anything?
Well, yes, by the looks of things, because at least two of these look like they’re very much worth your time.
Thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for finding all of these free games for us!

Alright, we’re ranking these from worst to best today, so skip towards the end if you only want to claim the two I think are worth actually playing!
First up: Asteroid Forward from developer and published Alestore Inc.
Apparently this one is “a spin-off video game from the Asteroid series”, which makes it sound like it’s a part of the same franchise as the Atari Asteroids game… which isn’t the case.
Also, it’s awful according to the reviews. It’s a shoot ‘em up, but you use your mouse. Ew. Next.

Free Strategy Chess Game from developer and publisher Wang ZhongQi is, uh, chess.
Well, it’s chess except your units appear to be anime girls. Not sure if I can recommend this one. If you like chess, there’s definitely just a better free chess game you can play.
Ok, onto the good stuff.
Prima Materia XXV is a 3D fighting game from developer and publisher Fajtov Studio, and it's giving me some serious early Mortal Kombat vibes.

It looks fun enough, and the reviews are pretty complimentary. Think this one could be worth a shot.
And finally, Felt Mansion from developer Haedral and publisher HS.NET.
Don’t let the intentionally shoddy looking artwork or the RPG Maker assets fool you, because the reviews on this one are currently at a 100% positive rating.
According to reviewers, this one is worth playing for the humour alone. Clearly there’s a bit more to this game than the images on Steam may imply.

And that’s the whole list, but there will definitely be another on its way very soon.
Honestly starting to think there must be more free games on Steam than ones you gotta actually pay for at this point.
