Stardew Valley players can now enjoy a new free NPC expansion which allows divorced players to reconcile with their ex-spouses.
No, I’m not talking about in real life, as I’m not sure if Stardew Valley has the ability to do that, but rather a new mod which has been uploaded to Nexus Mods which allows players to re-marry their spouses after divorcing them.
No Need To Forget - Divorce Reconciliation is a new mod by creator Pinecone which allows players to make up with their ex-spouses and rekindle the flame.
The mod includes unique dialogue for all 12 vanilla NPCs who can be romanced, covering daily dialogue for all stages of divorce, plus lines for refusing or accepting gifts, lines for accepting a proposal, and lines for turning you down for a variety of reasons.

In total, it’s over 700 lines of new dialogue, with Pinecome doing their best to keep every character true to their vanilla selves.
“I'm a huge fan of second-chance romance — especially the kind where the one who messed up has to grovel their way back into their love's heart,” says Pinecone about the mod.
“But in Stardew Valley, divorce is a dead end: your ex-spouse will hate your guts forever, and the only way to win them back is erasing their memory. What kind of reconciliation is ‘forgetting everything we ever had’?
“I want them to remember me — remember everything between us — and then rebuild the trust, mend the bond, come to understand each other more deeply than before, and helplessly fall for each other all over again. Isn't that what love is? And so this mod was born!”

After a divorce, your ex’s friendship metre is no longer locked to zero. Instead, it’ll move through five stages allowing them to initially move on from the hurt to a stage of acceptance, with the possibility of reconciliation looming.
To reach this point, you have to move through the different stages of divorce. The first three hearts represent hurt, where your ex is still angry and upset over the recent farewell.
This is followed by distance, which occurs between 3 and 6 hearts and represents an easing hostility, and potential friendship being built here.
At 6–8 hearts, your ex-spouse will soften and become more accepting of gifts and idle chitchat. Once you hit 8 hearts, you can also start dating again and hit the reconciliation stage of the relationship.
After this, once you get back to 10 hearts you can propose and re-marry, if that’s what you’re so inclined to do. Keep in mind your reasons for separating in the first place, as they may become apparent again once you’ve fully remarried.
Ahead of Stardew Valley's 1.7 update which adds two new marriage candidates, this sounds like the perfect mod to use on already existing playthroughs when that patch drops.
You can download No Need To Forget - Divorce Reconciliation now from the Stardew Valley page on Nexus Mods.
