Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has revealed the new marriage candidates for the game's upcoming 1.7 update.

Celebrating Stardew Valley's 10th anniversary today, Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has marked the occasion with a special video to give a special message to fans, and reveal more about the game's background.

As part of the video, he's also revealed the two new marriage candidates who will be added as part of the upcoming 1.7 update.

Update 1.7's two new marriage candidates will be Clint and Sandy. Everyone get your flowers ready.

Well, I think this was probably fair enough. I can't imagine anyone didn't see this coming, as Clint and Sandy have been pretty popular marriage candidate suggestions in the past.

For those who don't know, Clint is a villager who owns the local blacksmith, while Sandy lives in the Calico Desert and runs the Oasis store.

The anniversary video also showed off gameplay from Stardew Valley's first alpha version in 2012, which was called 'Sprout Valley' at the time.

It's a pretty fascinating early version of the game, featuring old versions of the characters and some early concepts for features and ideas that would eventually make their way into the final version of the game.

The video then went on to show other versions of how the game looked while in development between 2012 and 2016.

Some of those earlier concepts are pretty interesting to look at. Everything from the UI, to character designs, to how the mines function has changed rather dramatically.

I mean, ConcernedApe even showed off underground goblin villages, and now I'm thinking this needs to come back in the next update.

Update 1.7 doesn't have a release date yet, but ConcernedApe is working on the update simultaneously with Haunted Chocolatier, his next game where you run a confectionery store that is also haunted.
