Stardew Valley’s dinosaurs are a peculiar addition to your farm and if you want even more of them this is the mod for you.
For those who haven’t played Stardew Valley before and are confused by that headline, yes, dinosaurs are in the base game. There are actually quite a few additions that you wouldn’t expect from a cosy farm sim and I’d implore you to discover them for yourself by booting up the game, if you’ve got a spare 50-100 hours of course.
Dinosaurs eggs can be unearthed in the game and placed in an incubator to hatch, becoming one of many creatures you can keep on your farm.
They’re very cute but there aren’t loads of them which is where Dino Expanded comes into the picture.

Simply put it expands the amount of dinosaurs you’ll be able to acquire in the game, basically transforming your farm into Jurassic Park. It’s really quite something.

Five new species of dinosaur are added including; Velociraptors, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Spinosaurus (the coolest dinosaur don’t @ me).
Each dinosaur type has its own temperament and even a clever name to fit the style of the existing Stardew Valley dinosaur, Pepper Rex, a Stegosaurus.

The mod doesn’t stop at new species either; it also adds a new building to house them in as well as new gadgets and items that can be used to take care of them.
After a little while you’ll have a glorious collection of scaly critters, just keep an eye on the carnivores lest you repeat the mistakes of Jurassic Park.
The mod’s available via NexusMods right now and includes set-up instructions, guides on the new content and a couple of warnings for those trying to install this mod onto an existing save, as there are a few things to consider before you do.
It’s a great expansion though. Dinosaurs in Stardew Valley is an incredibly cool concept but ConcernedApe is a solo dev so players can’t expect him to do all of the work.
While these mods are great, Stardew Valley fans can still look forward to more official updates for the game in the future, like one that’ll add some new romance options to the game.
ConcernedApe is also working on the game’s successor, and it might not be Haunted Chocolatier.
