Ginger Island is an excellent addition to Stardew Valley, with this late-game area having landed back in the 1.5 update.
It’s an area that’s hardly short of things to do, bringing with it a new farm, dungeon, and quests. It’s also inhabited by charming NPCs.
If I had to fault Ginger Island though, I’d bring up the fact that it’s not exactly a hub for events at this moment in time, but it can be with the simple installation of this new mod.
‘Ginger Island Events’ does exactly what it says on the tin, and has proven a success with Stardew Valley players after appearing on NexusMods several days ago.
Advert
Developed by bananasalmon, those who download this free fan creation should expect new events which’ll massively boost the immersion surrounding the NPCs in the area.
“Ever thought why Leo, Birdie and Professor Snail don't acknowledge each other?” the mod’s creator asked.
“Or why Willy only acknowledges Leo? This mod adds six vanilla friendly events on Ginger Island!”
Those events take place between Leo and Professor Snail, Leo and Birdie, Birdie and Professor Snail, Birdie and Willy, Professor Snail and Willy, and Leo and Island Resort.

I’m not going to delve into exactly what each friendly event entails as that would spoil all of the fun.
However, if you’re dying to know in advance instead of just downloading the mod, you can head on over to the NexusMods listing where you’ll find spoiler-tagged pre-conditions and a summary for each one.
The creator is actively working on making this creation compatible with as many other mods as possible, so if you do run into any issues, just let them know.

No future events are planned to be added at the time of writing, but never say never.
Already, the mod is proving to be a great success with players.
“Thank you for the mod!” one wrote. “We’re getting a number of good Leo content lately.”
“Woah, that’s an interesting mod,” another added.
Update 1.7 Is In The Works
It’s a nice little way to spice up the game whilst we all await the next official update from developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone.
Barone is supposedly fully focused on his upcoming spiritual successor Haunted Chocolatier, although he has assured Stardew Valley fans that a 1.7 update is in the works.
We don’t know what that will entail nor when it will land, but it’ll presumably come to PC before it lands on console. That’s the pattern the indie dev typically opts for.
Of course, the game’s new-gen update did land last month on Nintendo Switch 2, at least in the US.
European fans, in particular, have noted that the update remains unavailable there while Barone seeks to eradicate several bugs.
All in all though, there’s plenty of cosy goodness on the way.
