'Skyrim' Players Can Now Admire Dragons In Glorious 16K

A Little Less 16k Dragons, A Little More "Touch Me"

There are entirely too many mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in the year of our lord 2022. But isn't that kind of the beauty of the game these days?

There's a mod for pretty much everything. Wanna make the NPCs look like supermodels? Bit weird, but go ahead. Fancy jumping off a mountain and using a paraglider to float to safety? You can totally do that. Skyrim X Star Wars? It's yours.

I probably don't need to tell you that among the vast library of Skyrim mods out there on the internet, some of the most popular are the ones that polish up the 10-year-old game's visuals.

There are tons of graphics mods out there, and combining the right ones can make Skyrim look like a brand-new game. Now, one modder has released a mod with a very specific selling point: 16K dragons.

As spotted by PCGamesN, a mod from Bellyache overhauls the textures of Skyrim's dragons to have them flying around with glorious 16K resolution skins.

Fellow modder XilaMonstrr believes “everyone who is running 4K textures should be using 16K dragon textures," reasoning that the increased resolutions on dragons compensate for their size. Anyone who's fought a dragon in Skyrim will know that you do end up getting quite close to them, after all, giving you a much closer look at their textures than any other item or enemy in the game. It's a valid argument, for sure.

If your PC can handle such high-res dragons up in your business, then you can download the mod right here.
