Skyrim: The Girl With The Dragon Heart is now back and available to download once more, following its previous removal due to some, ahem, “questionable choices in dialogue and content”.
The Elder Scrolls games have always been at the heart of the modding community, and no entry in the franchise exemplifies that more than Bethesda’s latest mainline entry, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
If you’ve been on the Skyrim modding scene for a while now, you’re probably more than familiar with the mod Mirai - the Girl With the Dragon Heart from NexusMods author kaleidx.

It adds a brand new questline, a fresh, fully voiced new follower, and even some unique armour and gear. The mod has proven to be pretty popular over the years, which is why you might be shocked to learn that, at some point recently, it was actually removed from NexusMods.
So, what happened? What are these “questionable choices in dialogue and content” that kaleidx points to being the reason it was removed in the first place?
Well, the follower you get from completing the mod, Mirai, was originally 17 years old in the first version of the mod. You can probably figure out where I’m going with this.
Yeah, you could originally marry Mirai in the first version of the mod, which, uh… yeah, that’s certainly quite the questionable choice.

To be fair (let me finish), the mod author does originally blame this choice on the fact that, at the time the mod finally released, they had just turned 18 themselves. Kinda sounds like they just wanted a follower who was their own, real-life age to marry in-game.
Of course, I’m sure a lot of folks who chose to download were horrified that Mirai was 17 ... or at least I hope so.
Either way, the new version of the mod has aged Mirai up a bit and dialogue has been changed, so that means it should be able to stay up on NexusMods permanently (and the police will no longer flag your IP address the second you download it now).
