The Elder Scrolls drops major new release out of the blue

The game will be expanding vastly

The Elder Scrolls is a franchise with legions of fans around the world, not just because of its brilliant history of single-player campaigns, but also with the MMORPG entry, The Elder Scrolls Online.

Here, players can work against or with each other across the world of Tamriel, visiting areas previously made famous by those single-player games, like Skyrim.

For many players of The Elder Scrolls Online, there’s more than enough to pass the time, with hundreds of quests and vast expansions to work through, but that hasn’t stopped Bethesda announcing that fan-made content is on the way.

In a post on Twitter, the announcement was made that players can now access Add-Ons that will further expand the game via new features made by the community.

This will open up even more things to do in an already burgeoning game, offering new ways to play.

Starting today, Xbox and PlayStation players can access the Add-Ons section of the game, which is found on the main menu.

There, you will be able to filter the options via categories, and after finding something you like the look of, it’s easy to install the new content directly into your game.

Bethesda has mentioned that, for now, only UI changes are available, which is likely due to the scope of the MMO and the myriad moving parts that could end up broken for other players by introducing a mod.

Don’t let that stop you. The UI tweaks available will help with any quality of life issues you may have had, or improve certain aspects of the game.

In the fine print of the blog post made by Bethesda, they also note that “A maximum of 100MB of add-ons can be installed at any one time.”

This could be expanded in the future, but for now, explore what’s available and add on some tweaks to make the game a better experience.
