'Skyrim' Mod Adds Nemesis System From 'Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor'

This brand new Skyrim mod adds Shadow of Mordor's critically acclaimed Nemesis system.

Another day, another Skyrim mod. Skyrim has to be one of the most modded games in existence. Despite the fact that it was released over a decade ago, the game continues to inspire its creative playerbase.

In the past few weeks alone, one modder created stunningly glorious 16K dragons, whilst another gave the game a Red Dead Redemption inspired makeover. There’s also been a realistic Cicero mod, and an ‘ultimate’ Lydia mod. The options quite literally are endless when it comes to Skyrim.

Check out our favourite Skyrim wins and fails below.

The latest mod to impress Skyrim fans adds the Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to the game. If that’s left you going, huh? Let me explain. The Nemesis system was perhaps the biggest selling point of Monolith Productions’ 2014 title. Essentially, the Nemesis system created a hierarchy and adapted ranks amongst NPCs.

For example, if the player was killed by an orc, that orc could then be promoted so the next time you encounter that particular NPC, they may now be a commander. Nameless NPCs were given names as they rose through the ranks. The more NPCs that rose through the ranks, the more internal grappling for power there was in Sauron’s army.

The ‘Shadow of Skyrim’ mod has been created by Syclonix and will give Skyrim’s NPCs a “unique name, increased stats and special buff.” NPCs will be able to take and use your gear, and the mod adds quests allowing the player to track down any NPC nemeses created by the system. Syclonix has created all of their own gameplay systems and the mod is officially set to launch this week on 6 August. This is definitely one to download if you’re looking to add fresh life to the game.
