We’ve already seen some fantastic video game releases at just over the halfway point of 2024 and one of the games that’s sitting at the top of the pile is Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Announced by Capcom in June 2022, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to its original game in the series which was released ten years earlier on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to newer consoles in the years that followed. Upon release, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was praised for its sense of adventure, epic boss battles and immersive story.

In our review of Dragon’s Dogma 2, we said: “Capcom has created a cinematic, epic adventure that is somehow also completely unique to every player. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a surprising, maddening, glorious masterpiece.”

Yet, despite its critical acclaim earning a Metacritic score of 86, that didn't stop the RPG from being review bombed with angry fans expressing their annoyance at the implementation of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 microtransactions. However, despite this, if you’ve been tempted to check out Dragon’s Dogma 2 and see what all the fuss is about, now is the perfect time to do so.

As of right now, until 18 July 2024, you can download Dragon’s Dogma 2 courtesy of its free trial. Available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, this sequel, which is most certainly for fans of Skyrim and Elden Ring, is offering you two hours of gameplay.

During the trial, you will have full access to the game. That being said, with an estimated completion time of 30 to 100 hours (depending on your play style), the two action-packed hours will barely touch the surface of Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Once the trial is over, your saved data will be carried over into the full game, should you decide to purchase whether it's the digital or physical copy of the game. The free trial can be accessed via the Steam Store, the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.
