My backlog is near to the point where it’s hard to picture a future where I actually finish every game I’ve currently got on the go.
The situation is even more alarming when you consider how many soon-to-be-released titles I’ve got my eye on, from Mafia: The Old Country to Ghost of Yōtei.
I’m sure you’re very much in the same boat and yet, that’s not going to stop me from potentially adding another upcoming title to your extensive wishlist.
Developed by Wingeon Game Studios, Drakantos is an upcoming free-to-play MMORPG that’s perhaps best described as The Legend of Zelda meets Skyrim.

In this beautiful pixel-art open-world adventure, players will be able to pick from 21 unique heroes, traversing across the fantasy world of Eldras.
It’s a MMORPG that’s driven by a strong narrative and, of course, with players having access to so many heroes, it shouldn’t be too hard to find a playstyle that suits you.
There isn’t exactly a class system, per se, but heroes do have their own unique mechanics, traits, and roles within the narrative.
Throughout the game, you’ll venture into plenty of dungeons, whether that be alone or alongside pals via co-op.

There, you’ll face off against various enemies and bosses, avoiding traps, as you attempt to gather important resources.
There are even "special events and twists”.
There’s also a PvP battleground if you’d rather fight your fellow online players with this area offering various game modes including in a ranked system if you wanna be the very best like no one ever was … wrong game.
Outside of combat, you can customise your hero’s skin and your profile, collect pets, emote, decorate your own patch of land, trade items, partake in minigames, and ascend a guild system.

Oh, and there’s a day and night cycle, which is always a welcomed touch.
Perhaps the only downside here is that Drakantos still lacks a release date.
It’s currently slated to release on PC via Steam so I’d recommend wishlisting it if you want to be kept in the loop.
A playtest was held as recently as last month so it’s your best chance at being alerted of the next opportunity ahead of the title’s eventual release.
