It appears that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 might be skipping one platform later this year, despite Microsoft’s promise to keep parity for the series between all systems.
Before Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard was completed in October 2023, one big issue from critics was due to the publisher’s control over Call of Duty, one of the most successful and profitable game franchises of all time.
Sony Interactive Entertainment raised concerns that Microsoft would make Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox, though this was later rectified by Microsoft making the game non-exclusive until 2033.
As a result, both Call of Duty games to be released after the acquisition; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, launched day and date on PlayStation consoles as they had on Xbox.

However, Microsoft also signed a 10-year deal with Nintendo during this time to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles “the same day as Xbox, with full feature and content parity”.
This did not apply to Modern Warfare 3 or Black Ops 6, presumably because the original Switch hardware was not capable of running the game. But now that the Nintendo Switch 2 is out, no confirmation of Call of Duty coming to the new console has been made.
According to notable Dealabs leaker billbil-kun, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, but not the Switch 2.
Indeed, over on the official website for Black Ops 7, there is also no mention of Switch 2 under the supported platforms, so unless Activision pulls out a surprise announcement at Gamescom, it's possible that it'll be skipping the Switch 2 at launch.

The leak also alleges that the game will be released on 14th November, 2025, just over a month after EA releases Battlefield 6.
It’s always possible that a Switch 2 version of Black Ops 7 could be releasing later down the line, but nevertheless, it’s a little disappointing for fans who were hoping to play the new release on the Switch 2.
Considering the drop-in, drop-out appeal of Call of Duty’s quickfire multiplayer matches, it sounds like it might have been a good fit for a handheld platform like the Switch 2.
