Red Dead Redemption players baffled by mystery female NPC

A mysterious Red Dead Redemption NPC has left fans baffled.

There are many details across both of Rockstar Games' rootin' tootin' titles that leave fans scratching their heads.

However, this is by far the most perplexing.

Chiefly because it doesn’t appear we’ll be discovering an answer any time soon.

Upon looking back at all the Red Dead Redemption promotional material, Redditor Sillen_Jr spotted a female NPC they know nothing about.

This brunette beauty is an unknown to fans, leaving them questioning if she’s a “cut character”.

Another query the OP had was whether we’d see the woman with no name in the “next instalment” of the franchise.

Players believe they’ve found the perfect protagonist for Red Dead Redemption 3 already, but that doesn’t mean this NPC can’t finally appear.

Some have speculated, however, that this mystery woman is merely the “RDR equivalent” of GTA’s generic prostitutes.

“I honestly think it’s a nod at the old Grand Theft Auto case/poster. Always had some bad chick on it that had nothing to do with the story,” commented Fatking101.

Another fan added weight to that theory saying, “This is when the marketing for RDR1 wasn’t sure if this was ‘GTA with horses’, so this is very reminiscent to the GTA’s pin up screens.”

Other players have a different theory, though.

Some believe it’s John in disguise.

Obviously they’re joking, but we love the idea of John working nights at the Armadillo saloon in full drag.

Putting the sillier comments to one side, the OP isn’t convinced that the unknown NPC is just another cover girl.

In their eyes, she “actually looks like some important character”.

“If she is indeed supposed to only be a random hooker,” they argue, “then I think it would be a waste of a good design.”
