Red Dead Redemption: Definitive Edition trailer concept gives us chills

This fan-made Red Dead Redemption: Definitive Edition trailer concept has given us chills.

How’re we feeling Red Dead Redemption fans? There’s a building sense of anticipation in the air. Thoughts of ‘Is it true? Could it finally be real?’ echoing on the wind. I feel your pain, your excitement. Let’s all gather for a shared yeehaw.

If you hadn’t heard, there have been heavy rumours in recent days claiming that a remake of Red Dead Redemption is on the way from Rockstar Games. Sources claim that it’ll be unveiled in August. Towards the end of the month, we do have Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, but (if it’s true) Rockstar could also just drop the announcement on their own terms. The remake makes sense though. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is enjoyed by many to this day, the original Red Dead Redemption remains difficult to get your hands on. While we don’t have any official confirmation right now, one fan has created a Red Dead Redemption: Definitive Edition concept trailer and it’s giving us chills.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

This project gives us a great idea of what a real Red Dead Redemption remake could look like. It was shared to Reddit by user jericho681 who edited the concept project using footage created by soundslikepizza, Enfant Terrible, and Poorified. The trailer features some stunning environments. If you think Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best looking games out there, a RDR remake could steal its thunder.

Viewer vextonomy wrote, “Almost looks official. Great job mate,” while elpinchechupa added, “Wow, you made John look so mf badass in that opening shot with the gun. Good stuff.” Holtkid said, “If a dedicated fan can do this, I can only imagine what Rockstar could actually pull off.” There’s so much potential for greatness.

Following the remake rumour, there’s been an interesting update on the Red Dead Redemption website plus there’s the updated rating that sparked all of this in the first place. We’ll be keeping a beady eye out.
