The gem that is Red Dead Redemption 2 released five years ago now and still, players continue to make new discoveries in its vast open world. Might this be the greatest open world of all-time?

It’s no surprise that fans continue to dive into Red Dead Redemption 2. We’re still waiting on a Red Dead Redemption 3 announcement. For that matter, we’ll take a spin-off or perhaps even DLC. Please Rockstar. We just want something. In the meantime, fans have uncovered an alternate ending for Red Dead 2 which has left them stunned, although there is also a certain plot hole that’s got some players scratching their heads. If you’re really craving a Red Dead fix, you may want to check out the Red Dead Redemption: Tombstone event which sounds incredible. Today though, I bring you a gruesome new secret that’s been discovered.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails.

As reported by GameRant, a gruesome combat detail has been found by a player while using the game’s photo mode. Reddit user deutschegesetzbuch wrote, “I just noticed that when you shoot someone in the head, you can see his jaw flying away in photo mode. I always find new things in this game even after two years playing, wow.” The accompanying screenshot is gross, so prepare your stomach.

As grim as this is, it shows the incredible attention to detail in the game and I must admit, I’ve never noticed this before. Red Dead 2 is full of surprises. I’m not alone in having never noticed though. Jeberani wrote, “Holy christ. This game has some horror genre aspect to it. Look at his detailed jaw,” while SavageDroggo1126 added, “Not only jaw. Sometimes you can catch their eyeball and tongue getting blasted out too.” Disturbing.

During the writing of this article, I discovered the r/RedDeadGore subreddit, completely dedicated to this type of thing and let me tell you, it is mighty unpleasant but you cannot deny that the devs poured everything into this game.
