Red Dead Redemption 2 is no stranger to some heartbreaking moments but this recent discovery, that is often overlooked by many, has some fans feeling the pain.
When you are not shooting bandits, hunting down criminals, getting drunk at the saloon or fighting crocodiles, Red Dead Redemption 2 is making even the strongest amongst us cry thanks to its heartbreaking storyline.
As we all already know (and if you don’t, look away now), the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 sees us lose our protagonist Arthur Morgan to tuberculosis, leaving us to wrap up the game as Red Dead Redemption’s John Marston.
However, it is often easy to forget that the two were something like brothers and we can only imagine how hard Arthur’s passing hit John.

That being said, a recent discovery by Anaelepse over on r/RDR2 shows us that maybe Arthur never truly left John and was watching to the bitter end.
“This made me tear up,” the user posted alongside a video of John riding his horse over some rolling hills.
All of a sudden, the player pans the camera over to a nearby rock face and we can see a lone stag watching him before slowly trotting off back in the distance.
With deer imagery being associated with Arthur, many fans believe this to be the man himself looking over his brother as he continues his journey so it is no wonder that it is bringing a tear to the player's eye.

“I had this same encounter at that same location. I had the same thought... Arthur is watching over John,” user MagooDad replied alongside their very own screenshot of the same moment.
“SOMEONE IS CUTTING ONIONS I SWEAR,” another user exclaimed.
With other fans wishing that we had received more moments between John and Arthur in Red Dead Redemption 2, I can’t help but agree but it is still a heartwarming realisation to see that the two are never far from each other.
