Red Dead Redemption 2 NPC Feature Continues To Impress Years After Launch

The detail is astounding

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game best known for the little details that give it character and soul.

For many Red Dead Redemption 2 has ruined gaming as Rockstar Games’ attention to detail makes other open-world titles look simple in comparison. No wonder studios panicked when the release date for GTA VI was announced, can you imagine what that game’s open-world is going to be like?

Years later Red Dead Redemption 2 is still thoroughly impressive and one of its best features like in the customisation.

Arthur Morgan feels like a living, breathing man until he doesn’t and players have had a lot of fun over the years putting him through his paces.

You can change his hair, his beard, his clothes, make him fat, make him bruised and more, with the character adapting to your preferred playstyle.

One player let Arthur’s beard grow out as much as possible till it was practically brushing against his chest, and sure enough it wasn’t just other players who noticed it.

Comfortable_Yak_2749 shared a video of their gameplay in Red Dead Redemption 2’s camp, with Arthur’s beard on full show for the residents to see and make fun of. The Van der Linde gang took the time to insult Arthur’s appearance, referring to him as Santa Claus.

It’s a neat detail and fans who perhaps kept their Arthur looking clean and tidy were impressed; many also spotted another unique design choice Comfortable_Yak_2749 made in their game… a bowl cut.

“The bowl cut is a terrible mod. Micah and Hosea got the best beard burns though.” read one of the comments.

Another was more personally insulted by the cosmetic choice, saying “That haircut is an abomination. A criminal offense. Arthur is so handsome. And you made a joke of him.”

“Micah cried when he found out Santa ain't real,” joked another comment.

Rockstar put in the work when it came to Red Dead Redemption 2’s lifelike world, and it’s the main reason many want a remake of the first game in the same style.

I doubt that’ll happen but who needs it when GTA VI is clearly going to leave them all in the dust when it launches next year?

Hopefully several features from Red Dead Redemption 2 have been brought forward for the next Grand Theft Auto title, especially the control we have over their appearance and the way other characters respond to them.
