How do you fancy beginning your week with a free game? That’s possible thanks to Konami.
The gaming powerhouse has stealth dropped a brand new free-to-play release, and it’s available to enjoy on PlayStation 5.
Unfortunately, you are going to need an interest in baseball to get a kick out of this one, but they do say you should never look a gift horse in the mouth.
Konami, as spotted by ComicBook, has launched eBaseball: Pro Spirit; this is a free-to-play spin-off of its popular Professional Baseball Spirits series.
eBaseball: Pro Spirit Is a Free-To-Play Console Exclusive
Weirdly, it appears to be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, for now. It’s also available on PC storefront Steam.

eBaseball: Pro Spirit offers exactly what you might expect. Players are able to partake in virtual games of baseball.
“Experience authentic baseball with players from around the world,” the synopsis begins.
“Feel the arc of every hit, the intensity behind each play, and the roar of the crowd surrounding the stadium.
“With stunning presentation, the game captures the true intensity of real baseball.”
Powered by Unreal Engine, Konami refer to the game as offering a “next-generation visual experience”.

Build out your team and then compete against fellow players from across the globe in online matches as you attempt to rise through the ranks.
There’s also an exhibition mode where you can take things a tad easier, adjusting the settings and rules. This may help you hone your skills, for example.
Plenty of familiar baseball faces are included in the game, it seems. I’ve never watched a game of baseball so I couldn’t point out who’s who.
Already, it looks as if eBaseball: Pro Spirit is off to a promising start.
An impressive 54% of players on PlayStation 5 awarded a perfect score of five out of five.
On Steam, it sits at ‘Mostly Positive’. Of course, there are negative reviews across both platforms too, but it does seem to be a positive picture on the whole.
“Love the option to take full control of fielding and baserunning. Very solid gameplay that feels like you are actually playing the game. Hoping to see more features added in the future. For a free title though, it is awesome,” wrote one happy player.
“It's a shame we don't get any success/career/franchise modes as I'm not a fan of multiplayer games in general. Otherwise, this is a great mix of simulation and arcade and the gameplay feels so much better and quicker to play than The Show. This should be great to play in local co-op also,” added another.
As I said, this won’t appeal to everyone, but it’s there if you want it.
