Red Dead Redemption 2 free download makes big change to game's ending

It is no secret that Red Dead Redemption 2 took us on quite an emotional rollercoaster and with the game ending with quite the familiar face, this free download is designed to bring back even more memories.

I don’t know about you but considering Red Dead Redemption 2 was released back in 2018, this is a safe space to talk about spoilers. However, if you are yet to play this masterpiece; first of all, why not? Secondly, be warned that this article will contain end-game spoilers.

By the end of Red Dead Redemption 2, our main protagonist Arthur Morgan has passed away and the reins are handed back over to John Marston who, if you didn’t already know, was the main character in Red Dead Redemption.

As Arthur’s friend and fellow gang member, it only seems fitting that the story will begin and end with him. However, with John’s appearance being quite different in the sequel, many fans have been taking advantage of this free download which brings back his original look.

Created for Nexus Mods, the John Marston Restoration Project mod aims to change Red Dead Redemption 2’s John Marston back into his original Red Dead Redemption appearance.

This means that his original hair, head and body model will be restored as well as fixes to clothes and NPC assets.

The goal of this mod is to improve the experience of playing as John Marston in the Epilogue,” reads the mod description. “It restores the beta models such as John Marston's head from the pre release screenshots.

It also adds in new clothing, that being cut clothing for John's player model, and clothing taken straight from his NPC model. The intent is to separate John's character from Arthur's as much as possible.”

For those who download the mod, John’s new clothing can be found at the nearest in-game Fence and will be added to his wardrobe to equip at any time.
