Red Dead Redemption 2 players have found a cool detail regarding Arthur, that you’d only notice if you paid close attention in one of the missions.

Rockstar Games is essentially the king of detail in video games. The worlds the studio creates are arguably the closest we’ve been to real-life simulation and it’s clear a lot of work has gone into the design of the world and NPCs that live there.

GTA VI is expected to dial things up 11 too, which unprecedented detail that’ll need to be seen to be believed.

Red Dead Redemption 2, for now, is the most impressive world Rockstar has built and a lot of care went into crafting its protagonist Arthur, to make players feel like they were actually making an impact through their actions, not just checking mission boxes.

Fans on Reddit have pointed out that in Chapter 4 in the St Dennis Galleria, players can find several photos that Arthur took himself in an earlier mission.

This is part of The Artist’s Way mission, and will have only been noticed by eagle-eyed fans with a good memory of the prior mission, Arcadia for Amateurs.

That’s just one of many details you can pick up on too, some of which even affect Arthur directly like having him change his facial expression when he’s injured, and of course that gut-wrenching realisation that happens partway through the game…

I don’t think we’ll ever get another game like Red Dead Redemption 2. Sure GTA VI will surpass it on several levels but it was a magical experience from start to finish, and if we could go back and experience it all for the first time again, I don’t think there’s anyone that wouldn’t take that offer.

Here’s hoping when GTA VI is out of the way, Red Dead Redemption 3 is on the cards, but who knows who it’ll follow and when it’ll be set.
