The so-called ‘friendslop’ genre has dominated trending charts in recent years.
It’s perhaps a reductive name for what is a charming genre that sees gamers team up with friends in exploration or puzzle-based titles.
A new friendslop title that may not yet have caught your attention is Carry The Glass, but it’s dazzling players over on the PlayStation Store where it’s dropped a free demo.
Carry The Glass adopts for physics-based shenanigans as two-players team up to, you guessed it, carry a sheet of glass.

You’ll step into the shoes of two construction workers who have to navigate some tricky obstacles in order to get said glass from A to B in this zany co-op platformer.
The glass is needed at the top of a tall skyscraper and lighthouse and, of course, you can’t get to the top via a lift or staircase.
You’ll need to hop and dodge your way through a number of devious levels that surround these structures, inching ever closer to the top with every successful step.

In addition to striving for precision in your own actions, you’ll also need to make sure you jump in time with your teammate or you could send the glass flying.
Communication, to state the obvious, is key here.
Don’t miss out on some of PlayStation’s other recent freebies:
There’s very much a Peak feel to what Carry The Glass has to offer; one wrong step could spell the end of a friendship.
Carry The Glass is set to launch on PlayStation soon with a precise date yet to be pinned down.
You can, however, already check out its free demo via the PlayStation Store on PS5 - and no, you don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to get involved with offline play enabled.
Correct at the time of writing, the demo boasts a score of 4.08 with an impressive 65% of players awarding a perfect score of five out of five.
You ca’t leave written reviews on PlayStation, but you certainly can on Steam where Carry The Glass launched several years ago.

“This was so fun to play with my friends. This game really tested our friendship and lets just say after playing this game my friend actually wanted to rip my head off,” read one review.
“I played this game with my friend and it took about 4.5 hours to beat. Definitely a fun game to play through one time. No replayability but that's ok it's worth its price,” added another.
Someone remarked, “One of those games where you can chill with your best friend and rage as much as you want and then hug it out at the end.”
It sounds like it's well worth a play, especially as it won’t cost you a penny or a cent to sample the free demo.
