PlayStation Plus remains committed to its trial within the US, UK, and Japan of staggering the launches of free titles on the extra tier.

Yet another two from June’s line-up have now landed: Life is Strange: Double Exposure and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

While Life is Strange: Double Exposure is well worth a play, it’s the classic RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance that I’d like to draw your attention to.

This next-gen edition of Warhorse Studios’ beloved 2018 title only landed in February of this year, so to have it added to PlayStation Plus already is quite the catch.

Set within the Kingdom of Bohemia, it follows commoner and everyman Henry, who joins the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla to assist in leading the resistance against the invading King Sigismund.

“You're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Thrust into a raging civil war, you watch helplessly as invaders storm your village and slaughter your friends and family,” begins the synopsis.

“Narrowly escaping the brutal attack, you grab your sword to fight back. Avenge the death of your parents and help repel the invading forces!”

It’s very much your classic open-world RPG. Alongside progressing through the main story, players will also be able to take on side quests, explore, and level up.

What’s great about Kingdom Come: Deliverance is that it offers a non-linear story, so there’s no set method to progress through events.

Quests can be tackled via a number of different strategies with your choices affecting what unfolds.

Combat is versatile, allowing you to test your distance, melee, and stealth skills with plenty of weapons to choose from.

Of course, the skills and perks you select for Henry will also dictate his strengths.

You Could Be Looking At Well Over 100 Hours To Complete Kingdom Come: Deliverance

According to How Long To Beat, the main story of Kingdom Come: Deliverance takes, on average, 42.5 hours.

If you add side quests into the mix, you’re looking at 80.5 hours on average - with completionists taking around 136 hours to 100% the game.

In other words, Kingdom Come: Deliverance should keep you busy for a good long while if that’s what you’re after.

There’s arguably no better time to try this modern classic out, and there are a couple of reasons for that.

From Kingdom Come: Deliverance To Lord of the Rings

First of all, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II landed last year, in 2025, with the sequel building upon the original perfectly.

It’s a much stronger game - and one totally deserving of its Game of the Year nomination.

Perhaps more significantly though, Kingdom Come: Deliverance studio Warhorse recently unveiled that it’s developing what is quickly going to become one of the industry’s most hyped games.

In addition to working on a third Kingdom Come title, Warhorse is also developing an RPG set within the Lord of the Rings universe.

For quite a while now, there have been whispers of a new Lord of the Rings RPG, one that could be to the franchise what Hogwarts Legacy is to Harry Potter.

With it being confirmed that it’s Warhorse who will be bringing the game to life, it feels like the project is in incredibly safe hands.

It’s too early to say exactly what locations and characters the game might include, but as details do emerge in the coming years, the hype is only going to build around this one.

So if you haven’t already got a feel for what Warhorse is about, perhaps consider picking up Kingdom Come: Deliverance on PlayStation Plus.
