Pokémon Legends Z-A Players To Receive First Major Freebie, Right Now

Free Pokémon stuff is always a win

Pokémon Legends Z-A has finally been released and players are taking the opportunity to explore the Lumiose City map for the first time, taking in the largest urban space in any Pokémon game and seeing everything it has to offer.

Reviews for the game have been generally quite positive, with the game currently sitting on a very respectable 80 overall rating on Metacritic. GAMINGBible's own review of the game concurred with that overall view, scooping an 8/10 score, with particular praise given to the overhauled battle system, the return of Mega Evolutions and the way it handles Wild Areas.

On the flip side of that, there were certainly areas of improvement, with the lack of any voice acting and dated visuals holding it back from becoming a true classic.

All of that in mind, it's still very much worth playing, and if you're one of those who pre-ordered the game, you'll likely be doing so now, or at the very least quite soon. If you do, it's worth knowing that there's some free goodies you can get hold of, though they won't be around forever.

As first reported by Game Rant, you can get your hands on a Ralts holding a Gardevoirite, the Mega Stone needed to Mega Evolve a Gardevoir, via Mystery Gift.

In order to claim the Ralts pre-order bonus, you'll need to update your game to the 1.0.1 version initially, or the bonus won't be available. From there, complete the tutorial and collect five different Pokémon, before connecting to the internet.

You should then be able to select Mystery Gift from the Link Play Menu and click Get Via Internet, adding the items to your in-game character.

First appearing in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Ralts is a rare Psychic-type Pokémon that you could originally get your hands on quite early. Whilst it will never be one of the most iconic designs in the game, it's a cool little creature that fits nicely in any collection.

Unfortunately, if you were planning on searching for a glitchy way to get several of these, it seems it's only currently possible to get one per save file. Though it's still a while away yet, you should also be warned that you only have until 28 February to claim it, so make sure to jump on now, before it's forgotten.

Also, again if you pre-ordered the game, you can also get your hands on 100 Poke Balls by heading over to the Nintendo eShop before 10 March, 2026.
