Pokémon Legends: Z-A Freebie Is Here, But Not Everyone Qualifies

Exclusive freebies incoming

Pokémon Legends: Z-A was a huge step in a new direction for the franchise, and Nintendo is rewarding players who have the game with some exclusive freebies. Here's how you can get your free gift!

Launching on 16 October, Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been in our hands for quite a while now, and any dwindling players were brought back into the fold when the latest DLC dropped, Mega-Dimension.

This expansion brought a new flavour of raids to the game, with players venturing through portals to a wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey version of Lumiose City thanks to Hoopa and its doughnut-eating capabilities. This warped version of reality is filled with new Pokémon to catch, all of which return from previous games. The DLC also turned my favourite ‘mon into nightmare fuel, but I digress.

If you played the DLC, or played Pokémon Legends: Z-A between 10 December and 5 January, Nintendo have seen it fit to reward you for your loyalty with new and exclusive Nintendo Switch Online freebies.

How Do I Get My Free Pokemon Gift?

Nintendo Switch Online icons are now available for those with an active membership to Nintendo’s subscription service. If you're eligible, go to you Nintendo Switch Online app on your Switch/Switch 2, where they'll automatically be waiting, ready for download!

The new icons feature three new Mega-Evolutions - Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox and Mega Greninja. These enhanced ‘mon were brought to the game in the build-up to the Mega-Evolution, with players needing to complete various tasks to unlock the key item required to Mega-Evolve them. Greninja, for instance requires the Greninjanite, which you can earn through playing in online battles. Don't worry though - you don't need to have played

If you haven’t played Pokémon Legends: Z-A between 10 December and 5 January you will unfortunately go without the shiny, new icons but don’t fret. They don’t do anything fancy, they’re just some optional goodies for spicing up your Nintendo account, nothing more than that.

We all love Pokémon and we all love freebies, but unfortunately Pokémon fans everywhere are reeling at the price of the new LEGO sets.

Teased last year, the new sets were unveiled yesterday and they’re causing quite a stir online.

There’s one for Eevee, one for Pikachu, and one featuring Charizard, Blastoise and Venesaur, which would look great as the centrepiece of any Pokémon fan’s display.

Scroll down to check out the Internet's predictably hilarious reactions to these brand new LEGO sets.
