PlayStation Plus free games for April 2023 confirmed

PlayStation Plus free games for April 2023 confirmed

Sony has confirmed April's Essential-tier PS Plus lineup.

Folks, it’s time. Next month’s batch of PlayStation Plus freebies have been officially confirmed, and it’s a pretty interesting lineup.

March’s Essential tier offerings put the bar for April’s games on the floor, if we’re being honest. Although Battlefield 2042’s inclusion certainly prompted a reaction from gamers, it wasn’t a positive one - EA’s 2021 FPS gained a terrible reputation at launch due to being ridden with bugs. Code Vein didn’t go down well, either - some players who’ve tried it this month stated that they were “heavily disappointed” by the game. However, things are looking up for next month.

One of March’s greatest PlayStation Plus hits was Tchia, which got added to the Extra-tier library as a day-one release. Take a look below.

As confirmed by Sony, those subscribed to PS Plus in April will be able to claim Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Meet Your Maker and Tails of Iron. You’ll be able to download them from next Tuesday (4 April).

Sackboy is probably the most exciting of the bunch - the 3D platformer features everyone’s favourite doll/knitted plushie/fella with good vibes in an adventure that’s incredibly fun with friends.

Meet Your Maker is being added as a day-one release, which is an unexpected surprise. This building-and-raiding game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where each and every level is designed by other players.

Finally, Tails of Iron is a hand-drawn RPG starring a rat, who must take down the Frog Clan to restore the rat kingdom. Sign me up.

Subscribers have until 3 April (next Monday) to claim Battlefield 2042, Minecraft Dungeons and Code Vein, so if you’ve not already, be sure to do that. It might not have been a particularly thrilling lineup, but free games are free games, right? Might as well grab them while you can.
