PlayStation Announced August Game Catalog For PS Plus

And it's an enviable, if varied, collection.

The latest games to be added into August's Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium have been announced, beefing up that enviable Yakuza lineup with a few... stranger choices.

We were already aware that Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 were on their way to the subscription service - an absolute treat when you remember that Yakuza: Like A Dragon is available to all PlayStation Plus members this month. Essential members also grabbed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and Little Nightmares on their tier, and the random horror theme has been continued in these offerings for Extra and Premium.

Check out the trailer for Yakuza Kiwami 2 below!

From 16 August, the massively, massively popular asymmetric horror Dead by Daylight is free for those on these tiers of PlayStation Plus. This is accompanied by Bugsnax, which is sort of a horror if you think too hard about it, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. I know this isn't a particularly popular opinion on the GAMINGbible desk, but I really liked Bugsnax, thanks to its unnervingly cheery colours shrouding a disturbing mystery.

All in all, Sony really closed its eyes, rummaged about in its bag of games, and pulled these goodies out for its customers. I suppose "friendship" could be the concept that ties all six games together.

There are actually even more games on offer, including Metro Exodus, Trials of Mana, Everspace, UNO, Monopoly Madness and Monopoly Plus. Again, all of the aforementioned unlock on 16 August so stick a reminder in your calendar to claim them as soon as they arrive.
