PlayStation Plus reveals July free game line-up

It's that time again!

PlayStation has announced the line-up for PlayStation Plus Essential for July, and it’s filled with games to captivate you for the month.

Every month, players wait to see what will be unveiled as the free games which come as part of the monthly PlayStation Plus subscription.

Last month was the Days of Play celebration, with Sony going all out and offering up some bangers, but what does this month have in store?

Announced in the last few minutes, we have, Diablo IV (PS5 and PS4), King of Fighters XV (PS5 and PS4), and Jusant (PS5), as the headliners.

That's one mammoth ARPG, a very good fighting game with delightful visuals, and a banging indie game about climbing mountains and pondering life.

Just Diablo IV alone will get gamers playing for hundreds of hours, trying to find the best builds to run through demons and protect the world of Sanctuary.

How will players react to this month’s selection? In the past few months, many fans have been vocal about the quality of games hitting the service.

With many of them pointing to Xbox Game Pass and feeling envy over the big hitters they’ve recently got their hands on, some feel like Sony needs to up their game.

Just three games might feel like slim pickings compared to last month’s big celebration, however, we're nearing the 15th anniversary of PlayStation Plus, with Sony planning some big events.

Sony pulled the trigger a little earlier than normal today, announcing the July games a few hours before they'd usually do so, perhaps they're cooking up something more for later?

This may give way to even more titles becoming available, and we've not heard anything about any retro titles making their way over to the service this month.

As the celebration kicks off, Sony will be hosting tournaments, offering discounts, and starting new game trials.
