July is officially underway, so it's about time we discovered what treats PlayStation Plus will be delivering us this month.
PlayStation has now officially confirmed July's essential tier line-up with X new games set to become available from next week, Tuesday June 7.
As is always the case, essential tier games are yours to download and keep as long as you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription; they don't leave the service once claimed in the same way that extra and premium tier offerings do.
It's with that in mind that you should probably download everything on offer as you never know how your tastes will change.

Clearly though, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is this month's headlining game, and that's set to be accompanied by For The King II and CrossCode.

It's a pretty mixed line-up with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III widely considered to be one of the very worst Call of Duty entries, and it's the only AAA offering here. That likely won't go down very well on a day where PlayStation has already devastated its community be confirming the end of physical first-party games.
Here at GAMINGbible, we awarded Modern Warfare III's main campaign a measly score of just five out of 10 upon release.
"Call of Duty deserved much better than this churned-out disappointment," said GAMINGbible's Richard Less Breslin.
"If you’re desperate for a bit of CoD this year, then you’ve probably already picked this game up. Otherwise, give this game a miss or at least hold out for patches to fix some issues. In a year that has brought us so much joy with some amazing video game releases, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III somehow manages to lower the tone."
For The King II and CrossCode both offer their own charms. The former is a tactical RPG while the latter is a 2D action RPG.
They're the types of games that perhaps weren't really on many people's wishlists but you should have a great time if you do decide to give them a go.
"Once beloved by her people, Queen Rosomon has turned against her subjects, casting them into servitude in the darkness of Fahrul’s mines whilst building alliances with sinister and malevolent forces," begins the synopsis of For The King II.
"Gather your party in four player co-op or adventure alone through Fahrul as you risk everything to fight the tyrannical queen and bring an end to her oppressive reign." The game holds a score of 76 on Metacritic.
As for CrossCode, it "combines 16-bit style graphics with butter-smooth physics, a fast-paced combat system, and engaging puzzle mechanics, served with a gripping sci-fi story".
This is the stronger of the offerings this month, boasting a top score of 86 on Metacritic.
As a reminder, all three games will become available next week from Tuesday July 7. While PlayStation Plus is trialling phased game rollouts for the extra and premium tiers in the US, UK, and Japan, the essential tier remains unaffected.
