It’s not very often that we get a second chance when it comes to PlayStation Plus offerings, but that’s exactly what we just got with these five free games.
Subscription services such as PlayStation Plus are getting more expensive, along with the price of video game consoles, but thankfully, at least, Sony’s subscription service still offers some good value for money, regardless of the tier.
That being said, we’re not sure how much value PlayStation Plus might hold if it continues to hike its prices. Let’s just hope that Sony follows Microsoft’s lead and lowers its price, as we’ve recently seen with Xbox Game Pass.
Unlike the basic tier, PlayStation Plus Essential, which has its games always remaining accessible with an active subscription, games in the PS Plus Extra and Premium libraries tend to come and go on a rotational basis, to make way for something fresh to play.

For the most part, some games do return, but you could be waiting months, perhaps more likely years, for a game that you’ve not quite finished to return. However, as brought to our attention by Reddit user alldake, five games that were set to leave PS Plus Extra and Premium in July will now not leave the service until the end of August.
As of right now, eight games will be leaving PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on 21 July, but the five games that we’ll get an extra month to play, now leaving on 18 August, are:
“Nice, a little more time. They should do it two months in advance every time,” suggested Fickle_Leg7455.
“Cursed to Golf and Risk of Rain 2 are both really good games. I suggest checking out those before they leave,” recommended Dazzling-Adeptness11.
“I was going to skip Bomber Crew, but if I have another month, I may check it out in addition to Roki. It would be nice if they could always give us more notice like this,” said Skydude252.
Typically, Sony announces the next batch of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games every second Wednesday of the month.
So, going by that, the next batch of games should be announced on 8 July with a phased rollout taking place after that as is being trialled in the US, UK, and Japan. As always, we’ll keep you posted as soon as that information drops.
