PlayStation Plus recently confirmed its essential tier free game line-up for August.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Signalis, and exciting day one launch Big Walk will all be available to enjoy from tomorrow, Tuesday August 4.
On Thursday August 6, PlayStation Plus subscribers will then also be able to make use of a DLC pack for the month’s most exciting AAA launch, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
The simply titled Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls PlayStation Plus Pack includes two item sets that PC users and those not subscribed to PlayStation Plus won’t be able to enjoy.

You’ll secure exclusive avatars for the following characters: Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Ghost Rider.
That’s in addition to an exclusive set of in-game Result Screen Character Poses featuring over 20 characters, including the likes of Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker, and more.
Of course, you’ll need a copy of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls in order to enjoy the DLC and the main game is certainly not free.
If you were already planning on purchasing Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls though and you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, you may as well grab this extra content.
You can do that by searching for the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls PlayStation Plus Pack via the PlayStation Store.
The avatars included relate to your PlayStation Network account, so you’ll be able to select from those in your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5’s settings.
The in-game Result Screen Character Poses will automatically appear in-game once the DLC is downloaded.
Thankfully, those who can’t get involved with this DLC aren’t missing out on anything that affects gameplay.

There is a limited window to grab Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ free DLC
The DLC pack is set to remain available until August 6 2027 which is a long way off but that being said, choose not to download it upon release and it’ll probably slip your mind.
It’s always safer to act sooner rather than later.
As for what Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls entails, well, it comes from Arc System Works and can be enjoyed both solo and via multiplayer.
In fact, a free beta test was recently held but if you missed out, you’ll simply have to wait for launch day.
The retro-inspired fighter sees you play as an array of classic Marvel heroes and villains, facing off in various Battle Stages.
There are five categories of characters in total: the Fighting Avengers, Amazing Guardians, Knights of Doom, Unbreakable X-Men, and Samurai Riders.

Fan-favourite characters like Ghost Rider, Blade, Doctor Doom, Storm, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, and more are among some of the featured names.
There will be 20 playable characters at launch but, assumedly, Arc System Works will add more in time just as we’ve seen in NetEase’s Marvel Rivals.
Get to grips with what Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has to offer in Start Up Battle - a tutorial mode - before progressing onto Training Mode to refine your skills.
There’s Episode Mode which is essentially the game’s answer to a story mode, or you can just work your way through casual or ranked matches.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls even has a fun hub world where you can customise your character and play on classic arcade machines.
It sounds like a blast - and it makes its way onto PS5 and PC on August 6 along with its PlayStation Plus exclusive DLC on the latter platform.
