Xbox gamers surprised by new free store credit you can claim now

Xbox users are voicing their shock over new free store credit that can be claimed from now onwards.

For those of you who appreciate bargains, claiming free store credit on a regular basis is a must.

However, with the recent conversion rates for Xbox Game Pass members changing, some have struggled to work out how to wisely utilise their points effectively.

For Game Pass subscribers, the new conversion rate is as follows:

  • 1 month GPU 12,000 pts - 400pts/day GPU (30 days)
  • 3 months Core 15,000 pts - 395pts/day GPU (38 days)
  • 3 months PC Game Pass 22,750 pts - 379 pts/day GPU (60 days)

Putting aside the issue with how much of a “huge decrease” this is, let’s look at the positives here.

According to Reddit user imgonnakms2soon, if you don’t have an active Ultimate subscription, “it's still worth to claim the 3 months of core for 15,000 points, which will amount to 45 days of ultimate (333 points per day).”

Further down in the comments, another surprised gamer said, “So you save about 6250 points a year buying three months of PC Game Pass every two months, instead of just buying one month of GPU every month.”

It’s quite the confusing transition for many Xbox players even in spite of these helpful users trying to offer advice.

If you want to experience more satisfying freebies, several free Minecraft downloads have been announced.

With multiple downloads up for grabs, you can use your free store credit to fund your next month or three of Game Pass.

Further exciting news awaits curious Xbox players with a passion for bargain hunting now that an acclaimed adventure game only costs $2.

The next time you fire up the ol’ Xbox, make sure to claim free store credit if you can, and make sure to make the most of the Game Pass goodies on offer.
