Xbox drops hefty new free download you can claim now

If you’re an Xbox owner, you can snag a pretty hefty freebie right now… but there’s, of course, a bit of a catch.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers are treated to a bunch of free little extras every month, alongside access to the service’s impressive line-up of games.

Now, most of the time, these aren’t really worth looking into (even for free). However, one of the freebies available this month is a big deal… and I’m certain that most of you probably didn’t even realise it was included.

As Pure Xbox’s Fraser Gilbert notes in their article, one of this month’s bonuses is a free 90-day subscription for Walmart Plus. Now, don’t worry; that’s not actually the hefty freebie we’re referring to.

You see, a Walmart Plus gives you a bunch of perks like free delivery and cheaper petrol, but who cares about that?

The real bonus is hidden within the Walmart Plus subscription itself, as claiming the free trial for that will also award you with a free 90-day trial for Paramount Plus.

It’s basically just Netflix/Amazon Prime, but for Paramount content. You can watch Star Trek: Discovery on it though, so at the very least I can confirm that one decent TV show is on there.

So what’s the catch? This perk can only be claimed if you’re in America.

That’s because this Walmart Plus perk isn’t available outside of the USA, so you can’t use that perk to claim the Paramount Plus perk.

I mean, maybe you could if, perhaps, your Xbox thought you were in America? Not sure how that might work, but I’m sure someone out there is savvy enough to try it.

Unfortunately, the rest of us will have to make do with all of the other perks on offer this month instead, like, uh… ok, never mind. All the other perks are rubbish. Sorry to get your hopes up.
