Xbox gamers warned they've until 30 August to grab these free games

Xbox gamers warned they've until 30 August to grab these free games

Play them before it’s too late

With services such as Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, you’ll have access to hundreds of video games at your disposal whether it's AAA big hitters, indie darlings or classics of yesteryear.

However, much like Sony’s PlayStation Plus, not every game will remain on Xbox Game Pass forever, unlike most first-party games including Halo Infinite, Gears 5, Forza Motorsport and much more. The duration that each third-party game remains on the service can vary, which is why it’s often a good idea to play a game you like the look of before it’s too late.

Check out the Atomic Heart trailer below!

This month on Xbox Game Pass, subscribers can enjoy some absolute bangers, including Age of Mythology: Retold, Frostpunk 2, and Mafia: Definitive Edition to name a few. Unfortunately, the subscription service is also set to lose some fantastic titles this month.

We’ve already lost Airborne Kingdoms, Offworld Trading Company, Shadow Warrior 3 and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But now, as reported by Comicbook.com, three more titles will be departing on 30 August 2024 including Atomic Heart, Guilty Gear - Strive and NBA 2K24.

Perhaps the standout game that is leaving Xbox Game Pass is the BioShock-inspired Atomic Heart.

“In a sublime utopian world, take part in explosive encounters, adapt your fighting style to each opponent, use your environment and upgrade your equipment to fulfil your mission. If you want to reach the truth, you'll have to pay in blood,” reads the synopsis of Atomic Heart.

If you are keen to pick up any of the upcoming departing games and currently subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, you can take advantage of a 20% discount while they remain in the library. That being said, if you’re patient, you’d probably be able to pick them up for a better discount at a later date.
