Xbox drops two free bangers you can't miss

Certified bangers wherever you turn

PlayStation Plus is getting all the attention lately, yet Xbox has just added two absolute bangers to its service.

We don’t wish to stoke the fires here, but there’s been a lot of talk about PlayStation Plus being the “best service in gaming”.

Clearly, the person who said that hadn’t seen these new additions to Xbox Game Pass.

Not one but two stellar titles have been added to this month’s selection of free games; they are Mafia: Definitive Edition, and Madden NFL 25.

Join the family in Mafia: Definitive Edition

The only difference between these two Xbox offerings is that one is a full game, while the other is a 10-hour trial.

Let’s start off with the full game, shall we?

Mafia: Definitive Edition is the best way to experience the original Mafia game. Overhauled “from the ground up”, it gives the first game a much-needed contemporary refresh.

“Rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organised crime,” reads the description.

“After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about falling in with the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon finds that the rewards are too big to ignore.”

Thrilling though that is, you might prefer sweating it out like the NFL greats.

If that’s the case, Madden NFL 25’s 10-hour free play trial is the game for you.

“Experience how the new physics-informed dynamic tackling system unlocks realistic collisions & new gameplay animations on both sides of the ball.

“With a reengineered Hit Stick, perfect hit indicator, a new Ball Carrier Balance System, and physics-driven dives, trucks and stiff arms, timing has never been more important as each interaction reflects true-to-life motion and physical outcomes.”

These two offerings are just the tip of the iceberg of what’s available via Game Pass.

If you don’t like the idea of paying for the subscription service, that isn’t a problem either, as there’s an easy (and tasty way) to claim Xbox Game Pass for free.

Once you’ve scored the free subscription, you can try to score a touchdown.
