Xbox Drops 3 Free Games You've 48 Hours to Grab

Hmm, yes, I know some of these words...

There are currently three free games for you to sink your teeth into on Xbox platforms right now, but you only have 48 hours before they all disappear for good.

I’ll be honest with you, nothing makes me feel less like a video game journalist than reading through the titles offered through the Xbox Free Play Days events.

Y’know, part of the job requires you to have an expanded knowledge of old, new, and upcoming releases, but there is always at least one title on these lists that I have absolutely never heard of.

This week, however, there are two! On the plus side, the one I have heard of is the title that’s available for all Xbox users, even if they don’t have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Alright, let’s start with the two I have no clue about. But before we begin, you should probably know that all three of these games are only available on both Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X (thank you in advance to Pure Xbox’s Ben Kerry for the list).

First up, The Catch: Carp & Coarse Fishing, developed and published by Dovetail Games.

Not to sound reductive but, yeah, this one is a fishing game. Not my cup of tea personally, but the game does have some pretty great user reviews. If you’re into hooking virtual fishies, it sounds like you can’t go wrong here.

Next up, Survival: Fountain of Youth by developer Odinsoft Inc and publisher Twin Sail Interactive.

This is an open-world survival crafting game set in the Caribbean islands, and the user reviews for it over on Steam are very positive. Gotta admit, the soft, orange glow of setting sun does make every clip of this game look absolutely beautiful. One for the Valheim fans, potentially.

And finally, you’ve got Star Overdrive by developer Caracal Games and publisher Dear Villagers.

This one is pretty new, having only dropped back in June this year. It's also the title that's available for all users, and not just Xbox Game Pass subscribers. I have been meaning to play this one for a while now, because you have a sick sci-fi hoverboard that you can do sweet tricks on.

Just remember, you’ve only for another two days left to give these ones a go, so make sure you pick the right game first so you can maximise your time! See you back here next week for another one of these (hopefully featuring some games that I’ve actually played).
