The weekend is fast approaching and what better way to celebrate than to don your cowboy hat, latch your lasso to your belt and look after some cattle.

Inspired by our favourite cowboys from Red Dead Redemption 2 and with the management skills needed for titles such as Stardew Valley, Cattle Country is an upcoming farming simulation game by Castle Pixel.

Check out the reveal trailer for Cattle Country below!

Set to launch fully on 27 May, Cattle Country is now free to try before you buy courtesy of a free demo over on Xbox and better yet, you do not even need to have a Game Pass subscription.

“Cattle Country straddles the saddle of cozy wholesome gaming and action-adventure,” the Xbox synopsis reads.

“Serving up hours of the slice-of-life you’d expect on the frontier – including mining, fishing, crafting, and farming – along with deep-rooted Wild West Quests delivering stories of romance, cattle drives, bandits, and robberies.”

As you travel west to start a new life, you will need all the skills to become a determined pioneer if you wish to make your brand-new home flourish.

From sunrise to sunset, you will need to get your hands dirty and raise some cattle if you wish to make it big but, of course, there is also time to craft and design your very own personal homestead.

When you are not raising cattle, you can help your neighbours and who knows? Maybe getting to know them may lead to some sparks flying.

However, you must always keep one eye on the horizon as pesky bandits can show up to threaten both your home and your community and so you will have to pick up your weapons and defend with your life.

From rodeos to romance, Cattle Country is packed full to the brim with features which make this western adventure feel alive and luckily, you can try it out right now ahead of its full release.
