It is officially Halloween and whilse others are taking to the streets for some trick or treating or throwing a big spooky bash, others will want to check out this epic free download arriving for Stardew Valley.

Having to run a successful farm, juggle romances and looking after a horde of animals is scary enough but it seems as though things can get a whole lot spookier for Stardew Valley lovers this Halloween.

Although there is no official Halloween update arriving for the best-selling farming simulation game, we now have the next best thing courtesy of Sakialyn over on Nexus Mods.

Uploaded just yesterday, Spooky Halloween Inspired Ranch is a brand-new mod for Stardew Valley which, as you can probably expect, gives your chosen farm location a spooky makeover. It's very Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, and we're absolutely here for it.

“It's Spooky Time once again, and that means more spooky additions.

"This time bringing you some spooky additions to your barns and coops," the mod description reads.

Your farm animals will indeed be receiving an undead makeover as zombie pigs, mummied sheep, werecows, and dracuclucks make their way to your enclosures.

Freshly returned from the grave, zombie pigs will be eager to dig up items in the graveyard for you whilst mummied sheep will provide you with heaps of cloth without the need of a loom.

As for the howling cows, they will provide you with milk which can be turned into cheese so strong that it will put hairs on your chest and dracuclucks will see you with enough eggs to feed the town.

With recipes able to be bought through Gus, these spooky animals will make the perfect addition to your farm this Halloween especially as they are able to provide you with cooking and crafting materials at a much faster rate.

But there's more

The Spooky Halloween Inspired Ranch mod may have only just been uploaded to Nexus Mods but it has already garnered almost 50 unique downloads so it is safe to say that Stardew Valley fans are eager for a way to give their farms that Halloween makeover.

If you are still eager for more ways to experience Stardew Valley almost ten-years on from its launch, you could always see if you are another player who has missed out on a helpful trick that could save you heaps of time.

Additionally, if you want even more Halloween-inspired content, you can check out yet another free download which will see you able to cook up some truly horrifying recipes.

Stardew Valley is available on PC, Switch and PlayStation now.
