2026 will see Stardew Valley celebrate its ten-year anniversary. Yet despite being a decade in, it seems as if players are still discovering unique and helpful tips to this very day.
Released in the year Donald Trump was elected President of the United States for the first time, Stardew Valley has cemented itself as one of the biggest farming simulation games of all time with its popularity showing no signs of slowing down.
Considering that it was made by just one developer, this is an impressive feat to say the least.
With its ten-year anniversary just around the corner, it remains to be seen what is next for Stardew Valley especially as its developer, ConcernedApe, still regularly releases updates for the game.

However, despite looking like a simple farming sim on the surface, it is clear that Stardew Valley still has a lot to offer fans with players still stumbling across unique features to this day.
That is what recently happened to one user over on r/StardewValley who shared a very helpful tip to fellow players after only just discovering it themselves.

“Omg!!!” User ConspiracyParadox began over on Reddit.

“I just realized you can fill your water can using the kitchen sink in your house!!! I'm year six, 164 hours in, and only now realizing this.”
Watering your plants and crops in Stardew Valley is pretty important as they will be one of your main sources of income.
However, with the game letting you know that your farm will most likely have a natural water source, it only makes sense that many of us would not think to head to our own kitchen.
With me only ever using my house to pass out in at the end of the day when I first played Stardew, I also missed out on this all-important tap so it is nice to see that I am not the only one.
We all missed it
Despite this user only just discovering the handy little trick, fellow players were quick to reassure them in the comments.

“Don’t feel too bad, 1200+ hours in and I had no idea either lol!” One user shared.
So did another, adding, “Almost 1k hours playing this game. Today I learned.”
With so many of the comments revealing that this was not a common piece of knowledge, it just goes to show how many more features in Stardew Valley could help us out in the long run and that we still have no idea about.
So next time you stumble across a life-saving hack, be assured that you may not be the only one who missed it.
