Stardew Valley players can download this new mod which adds a brand new NPC to the game, and she’s fully dateable.

There are already quite a large number of NPCs in Stardew Valley, but many more can be added to the game with the power of modding.

These mods aren’t just set dressing, but tend to weave the NPCs' life with the rest of the town and its citizens rather effectively, with the final result feeling like as if they were there all along.

Stardew Valley modder TamKungZ has added a brand new NPC to the game called Dr. Rei. Rei is a trainee doctor who lives in Pelican Town and spends most of her time around the clinic and hospital.

Her daily routine reflects her job, with different schedules for weekdays, weekends, and special days, so she should feel like a fully formed character.

Just like most other NPCs in Stardew Valley, Rei has a daily schedule that she follows, with time and seasons affecting her actions, and also has her own unique friendship level with you. She has conditional dialogue that reacts to this, too.

She’s also dateable once you get to know her, with you being able to learn more about her as she gets closer to you. This should also make her a decent marriage candidate, should you decide to go down that route. However, that option hasn’t been added to the mod yet.

Dr. Rei For Stardew Valley Is Intended To Be An Immersive Insertion For The Town's Citizens

As TamKungZ notes, the mod is intended to provide a “stable, immersive NPC experience that blends into normal gameplay”, meaning that Rei feels like a natural part of Pelican Town as opposed to a standalone story character.

However, it’s worth noting that Dr Rei is still a work in progress, and isn’t yet complete. For example, marriage with her isn’t available yet because the related content and artwork hasn’t been created.

TamKungZ may also change features, dialogue, and behaviour surrounding the character in future updates to the mod. I'd imagine this might be one to keep an eye on, in case future updates fully flesh her out.

If you’d like to download the Dr. Rei mod for Stardew Valley, you can do so by heading to Nexus Mods now. Be sure to back up your save before installing the mod, in case anything funky happens as a result of compatibility.
