Xbox has just released a new free DLC for Kiln, its new team-based pottery brawler, which came out earlier this year.
Kiln is the latest release from Double Fine Productions, putting players into 4v4 matches where you have to pull and squeeze raw clay into shapes before fighting it out across different maps.
Reviews were… mixed when it launched, with critics calling the game fun and clever, but lacking a little in the content department.
Still, it looks like Double Fine is ramping up content delivery as best it can, with a series of free DLCs being released for the game over time.

The latest DLC release is the Cats & Dogs Decoration Pack, which adds some new cat and dog-based accessories for all to enjoy.
“The Cats & Dogs Decoration Pack includes both Cat & Dog based accessories, with ten new attachments for both cat and dog lovers, four new pet-patterned glazes, and fourteen new stickers to expand your in-game customisation options,” reads the DLC description.
This release follows two other free DLCs, which were released in the weeks prior, including the Stickers of the Gods Sticker Pack and Dino Decoration Pack.

While critics' scores on Kiln were mixed, players seem to be enjoying it.
It currently has 73% positive ratings on Steam, indicating that player sentiment is "Mostly Positive", with recent positive reviews posted in the last 30 days being at 77%.
Kiln is developed by Double Fine Productions, a studio established in 2000, founded by former LucasArts personnel, including Tim Schafer.
You may best know it as the studio which brought us Psychonauts, Brütal Legend, and Costume Quest. It’s also taken charge of remastering some of LucasArts games, including Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle.
With regards to more recent releases, Double Fine released Psychonauts 2 in 2021 and followed that up with Keeper in 2025. It hasn’t confirmed any future titles, nor is it doing sequels like Brütal Legend 2 and Psychonauts 3.
The company regularly holds ‘Amnesia Fortnights’, where the developer drops everything and spends two weeks pitching and developing brand new prototypes, which are sometimes then released as is or turned into full games later on.
Kiln is one such example of this project being turned into a full game, where development began in 2017 from that year’s Amnesia Fortnight.
It was originally pitched as a “dark, supernatural brawler involving mountain spirits”, and was chosen as the “Team Choice” prototype during the jam. The idea then lay dormant for a while before being resurrected as a full game in 2026.
