Halo Gamers Rejoice As 2026 Set To Bring 2 New Games

We're so back

Halo is in dire need of a revival following a stagnated existence for Halo: Infinite; 2026 might be our year though.

I don’t want to be too mean to Halo: Infinite as the game has blossomed into something beautiful over the years. It's just a shame it took us so long to get there.

Halo players agree that the next game in the series can’t afford to launch with as little content as Halo: Infinite did.

From the sound of things though, we might be in luck. Official news on the next entry in the Halo series has been quiet but the latest rumours suggest next year will bring us not one, but two games.

The first is one you’ve heard of before, the Halo: Combat Evolved Remake. Word on the street is the remake will retell the story of the first halo game with modern “improvements” like sprint.

The second game though will apparently be entirely multiplayer-focused. A standalone live-service game that’ll seemingly replace Halo: Infinite’s multiplayer, which is already free-to-play and is still getting content updates.

In addition to this, 2026 will apparently bring the Halo series to PlayStation, something we’ve expected for a while now given how many Xbox exclusives have been ported across.

According to leakers like Rebs Gaming, Halo Studios is always working on brand-new stories in the Halo universe. Whether this means a sequel to Halo: Infinite or something else is unknown, but for the time being, it looks like the series won’t be rebooted just yet.

At first glance, the live-service multiplayer game doesn’t sound very exciting. Like I said earlier, that’s basically what Halo: Infinite was, so the only exciting snippet of info regarding this new upcoming release is it’ll be on PlayStation 5.

As for the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, that's a little different. While modern additions like sprint are definitely going to turn some heads, I’m all for seeing what Halo Studios does with the story.

If it goes well, I’d be keen to see the series rebooted so it can really become Halo Studios’ own thing, rather than trying to continue the Bungie games as best as it can.

Take it all with a pinch of salt, of course, but it looks like 2026 is going to be a big year for Halo fans, so keep an eye on the upcoming Halo Championship Series where new announcements are said to be taking place.
