Halo’s next game could already be in jeopardy following the shocking departure of Halo Studio’s art director.
Glenn Israel is a Halo veteran with 17 years of experience on the franchise, but will have no further involvement with the franchise.
Rather than a simple departure though Israel announced he’d be leaving the franchise in a very ominous way, which has Halo fans concerned for the future.
It’s rumoured that Halo: Combat Evolved will soon be getting a remake which might reboot the franchise and erase some of the less popular additions Halo Studios has made over the years.

In his announcement Israel said "As of today and after seventeen long years, I am officially no longer contributing to the Halo universe. There is little more I can say for the moment, though I intend to share this particular story in its entirety when it is absolutely safe to do so next year."
Israel then alluded to problems affecting their health and well-being, saying “No illusion of security nor promise of wealth or fame or power is worth trading away your health, your dignity, your ethics or values - and no one can force you to. Stay strong, take evidence when necessary, and find where you belong."
As you can imagine fans quickly jumped on the statement, with one saying that line “when it’s safe to do so” sounds like “he’s leaving the UNSC, not 343 haha.”
Another added “Silence can be louder than confession. Glenn Israel’s exit from Halo Studios sounds less like goodbye - and more like a warning wrapped in patience.”

Finally one fan said the franchise would be much better off with a full reboot, saying “I keep saying they should do a hard reset of the series from the end of Halo 3.
“343 failed to maintain the game to what fans expected. Own the mistake and restart it from scratch. They can do the games in Unreal Engine up to 3 and then reset the timeline after that for a better Halo 4, 5, and so on.”
While we won’t know what happened with Glenn Israel until they decide to speak about it publicly, we can definitely infer that there are some problems within Halo Studios, which matches some of the latest rumours regarding the developer and new Halo games.
