The Witcher 4 teased while poking fun at Ubisoft games

CD Projekt Red has jokingly mocked Ubisoft for its claim that Skull & Bones was a “AAAA” game, and says Witcher 4 will be “AAAAA.”

After a brief fall from grace with the release of Cyberpunk 2077, developer CD Projekt Red has really turned itself around following plenty of post-launch support for the game.

GAMINGbible recently sat down with the cast of the Fallout TV series for a game of snog, marry, irradiate, watch the chaos unfold below

It’s why many fans have made the bold claim that if Cyberpunk 2077 released in the state it is now, it’d undoubtedly be named Game Of The Year.

That being said it seems the developer is acutely aware that a disastrous launch like that can never happen again, as quality assurance has reportedly been bolstered following Cyberpunk 2077’s release.

However that also hasn’t stopped the developer from poking fun at the wider industry, specifically Ubisoft’s claims that its pirate adventure game, Skull & Bones, was a “AAAA” release.

During a recent financial Q&A, CD Projekt Red’s investor relations VP Karolina Gnas spoke about the next game the team is working on, The Witcher 4, saying it “will be AAAAA,” an obvious dig at Ubisoft’s bold claim.

We don’t know much about The Witcher 4, though it’s said the game will be a huge leap in graphics compared to the Witcher 3, and the team is reportedly using Unreal Engine 5.

It’s also believed Geralt will make a return in the game, though it’s unclear if this means he’ll be the protagonist or if he’ll play a secondary role instead.

Fans of the series are still gunning for a game that focuses on Ciri, though there’s every chance the next game will focus on a new witcher instead.

It’s unknown when CD Projekt Red plans to release the game, though it’s safe to say we’ve still got a few years left of waiting before we even catch a glimpse of it.
