With Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty now officially released, CD Projekt RED is turning its attention to the next instalment in The Witcher series.
While weâre referring to the next instalment as The Witcher 4, thatâs not its confirmed title. In fact, CDPR previously said that the game wouldnât be a direct sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Instead, Itâll kickstart a brand new trilogy although itâs assumed that in some way this will indeed link back to the previous trilogy. Iâd imagine that weâll get a brand new protagonist as it doesnât look as if Geralt is set to lead the game. Itâs all a lot of âmaybesâ for now, with CDPR holding its cards very close to its chest. In the meantime, one fan has made a mock-up of what The Witcher 4 might look like in Unreal Engine 5 - and the results are incredible.
Take a look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in action below.

The video is the work of popular YouTube creator TeaserPlay. Describing the project, he said, âIn this video, we are going to imagine The Witcher 4. The game is currently being developed by CD Projekt RED for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. We tried to use all the power and features of Unreal Engine 5 to recreate this, such as Lumen, Nanite, Ray Tracing and Metahuman.â
TeaserPlayâs video appears to use Geralt as a character in parts but as I said, we donât know who will lead The Witcher 4. This is simply a fan-made project but itâs fun to sit and ponder âWhat if?â - especially when we donât know exactly how long itâll be until CDPR offers a legitimate update. Iâm imagining that devs will take their time with this one.
Thatâs what fans are hoping for. âI just want CDPR to take their time, even decades if they need to,â wrote a YouTube viewer. âIf fan-made can look that good then I have high hopes for an official product,â added another.
